Sarah graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law with a J.D. and Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy with a Master of Public Policy in 2021. She completed her B.A. in Political Science at the University of North Carolina at Asheville in 2015. Her research interests are focused on human rights violations within the intersections of criminal justice and mental health. As an Equal Justice Fellow with Disability Rights North Carolina, Sarah’s work focuses on treatment and confinement conditions for individuals with mental illness who are incarcerated in North Carolina prisons. She has been coding for the Political Terror Scale since 2014.
